A classic Aesop fable told in simple English, perfect for beginners.
Once upon a time, there was a hungry fox. He was walking through a vineyard when he saw some beautiful, ripe grapes hanging from a vine.
"Oh, those grapes look delicious!" said the fox. "I must have them."
The fox jumped up to reach the grapes. He jumped once, twice, three times. But he couldn't reach them. They were too high.
He tried running and jumping. He tried standing on his tiptoes. He even tried climbing the vine. But nothing worked.
Finally, the fox was very tired and very angry. He turned away and said, "Those grapes are probably sour anyway. I don't even want them!"
And he walked away.
This story teaches us an important lesson. Sometimes, when we can't have something, we pretend we don't want it. This is called "sour grapes" in English.
Have you ever said something was bad just because you couldn't have it? That's sour grapes!
The end. See you next time for another story!
