A team of researchers at Tokyo University has created a tiny pill that delivers all the vitamins and minerals your body needs for an entire week. The pill uses a special coating that slowly releases nutrients over seven days inside your stomach. Currently, most people take vitamins every morning, and many forget. This new pill could make that problem disappear. In clinical trials with 500 volunteers, 92 percent said the weekly pill was easier to remember than daily vitamins. The pill contains vitamin D, iron, zinc, and twelve other essential nutrients. Scientists say it works by using a biodegradable polymer that dissolves at different speeds for different nutrients. The pill is expected to be available in Japanese pharmacies by early 2027, with plans to expand to other countries later.
