Learn common English idioms with Persian meanings, example sentences and practice exercises — the phrases that make everyday English sound natural rather than translated.
Native speakers use idioms constantly, and their meaning cannot be guessed from the individual words. “Break the ice” has nothing to do with ice. Without them, listening to ordinary conversation feels like a different language.
An idiom memorised as a translation is forgotten quickly and used wrongly. Each entry here gives a natural sentence showing the situation it belongs to, so you learn where it fits as well as what it means.
Idioms become active only when you use them. Take one or two a day into your own speaking practice — even awkwardly at first — rather than collecting a hundred you never say.
